Stephanie Rosenthal named Artistic Director for 20th Biennale of Sydney in 2016
Stephanie Rosenthal will assume the role of Artistic Director for the 20th Biennale of Sydney in November 2014, preparing for the 2016 edition. Since 2007, she has served as chief curator at London's Hayward Gallery, where she organized exhibitions like Robin Rhode: Who Saw Who (2008), MOVE: Choreographing You (2010), and Pipilotti Rist: Eyeball Massage (2012). Her upcoming exhibition MIRRORCITY, featuring 23 artists from London, opens on 14 October. Previously, Rosenthal worked as a curator for modern and contemporary art at Munich's Haus der Kunst. The appointment positions her to lead one of Australia's premier international art events.
