Stephanie Pereira Appointed Director of New Museum's NEW INC Incubator

Stephanie Pereira will become the new director of NEW INC, the New Museum's cultural incubator, starting July 2. She succeeds Julia Kaganskiy, who led the program since its 2014 founding, creating 300 jobs and raising $12 million in venture capital. Pereira previously spent six years at Kickstarter, where she was the first director of its Arts program in 2011 and later Director of Creator Engagement, building a community of over 100,000 creatives. She also co-founded PWL Camp and led a residency program in partnership with Skillshare. Before Kickstarter, she worked at Eyebeam as associate director of Learning and Engagement. The announcement was made by New Museum director Lisa Phillips and deputy director Karen Wong. NEW INC selects over 100 cultural professionals and creative entrepreneurs annually, providing 8,000 square feet of hybrid space. In September 2018, NEW INC will begin its fifth annual cycle, and Pereira will oversee the cohort in the new OMA-designed building by Rem Koolhaas and Shohei Shigematsu.
