Sten Lex completes large-scale stencil poster mural in Milan

The Italian street art duo Sten Lex have completed a large mural on a building adjacent to the former Convitto Trotter in Milan, as part of the Urban Art Residency ex Convitto Trotter presented last July. The work, executed in their signature stencil poster technique, covers a municipal building of nearly 5,000 square meters—the largest within the Parco Trotter-Casa del Sole school complex. The process involved destroying the stencil matrices, making the piece unique and subject to transformation over time. The residency and mural are part of urban regeneration projects promoted by Casa degli Artisti, an organization at the forefront of initiatives that bring together public and private sectors, companies, non-profit associations, and artists. The residency was conceived by Associazione Atelier Spazio Xpo’ within Casa degli Artisti’s residency program and is among actions supported by Lacittàintorno, a Fondazione Cariplo program aimed at improving quality of life in peripheral areas. The historic school once housed two hundred of the city's poorest children until the 1960s and will soon host PuntoCom, a local hub for social, cultural, and educational integration. The mural took about two weeks to complete, and the public could follow the work via social media.
