Stella Artois Algorithm Finds Beer in Art Masterpieces
Stella Artois has launched a campaign called 'The Artois Probability', developed in 2023 by agency GUT and the Museo de Bellas Artes de Buenos Aires. An algorithm analyzes paintings based on year, geography, glass type, and liquid color to calculate the probability that the depicted beer is Stella Artois. The campaign references works by Manet, Brueghel, and Brouwer. Harolfo Moreira, copywriter at GUT Buenos Aires, explained the process. Stella Artois originated in 1366 as Der Horen brewery in Leuven, Belgium, was renamed in 1708 by Sebastian Artois, and launched its seasonal Christmas Star in 1926.
