SteinART transforms from art office to gallery in São Paulo

institutional · 2026-05-01

Claudio Steiner and his wife Yael launched SteinART in the early 2000s, evolving it from just an art office into a full-fledged gallery. Before diving into the art world, Claudio spent 25 years in textiles and now focuses on Brazilian contemporary abstractionism. The gallery features works from renowned artists like Amílcar de Castro, Amélia Toledo, and Yutaka Toyota. While SteinART mainly operates in the secondary market, they took a leap into the primary market during SP-Arte 2019 with a major retrospective for Yutaka Toyota. For the upcoming SP-Arte, they plan to showcase 20 pieces in a special viewing room. Claudio notes that while online sales start digitally, final transactions happen face-to-face, and he’s seen a surprising increase in art interest since the pandemic. Future projects include new exhibitions and continuing their roles as art advisors and dealers.
