Stefano Raimondi Appointed Director of MAC Lissone, Unveils Triennial Program

Stefano Raimondi has been appointed director of the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Lissone (MAC) in Monza e Brianza. His tenure begins with the exhibition 'Amami Ancora' by Alice Ronchi (born 1989 in Ponte dell'Olio), opening February 18, featuring 40 drawings and sculptures in dialogue with the museum's permanent collection, particularly works from the historic Premio Lissone (1946-1967). Raimondi, a graduate of Università Statale di Milano and IULM, has directed The Blank Contemporary Art since 2010, organizing the ArtDate festival, and has been director of ArtVerona since 2019. He previously curated at GAMeC Bergamo and co-founded BACO. His triennial plan includes three strands: direct dialogue between the collection and an artist's first official Italian exhibition; a revamped Premio alternating between Painting and Design, with the Design edition involving public spaces; and the 'Trilogia del Limite' annual series, starting with 'Fuori Pista' exploring postwar artists who deviated from mainstream contemporary art. Raimondi aims to restore the museum's international relevance by leveraging his network, including curators from the Premio Bonaldi at GAMeC, and to involve artists who have not yet had a solo show. He highlights the artist Meloni, who initiated the Premio, as a favorite discovery.
