Stefano Guindani's 'Time to Change' Translates UN Goals into Photography
Stefano Guindani, a fashion and reportage photographer born in Cremona in 1969, has launched 'Time to Change,' a photographic project translating the 17 UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals into images. Supported by anthropologist Alberto Salza and Banca Generali, the project includes a book available in digital and print, and a documentary narrated by Rocío Muñoz Morales set to air on Rai channels. From October 3 to 30, 2023, the photographs will be exhibited in Milan on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, then in major Italian cities throughout 2024. Guindani, known for his social reportage books 'Haiti: Through the Eye of Stefano Guindani' and 'Do you know?', aims to use beauty to convey sustainability, avoiding stock images and focusing on positive examples like startups. Locations include Kenya, Tanzania, Singapore, Uganda, and the Svalbard islands. In Singapore, he documented water recycling by NEWater. In Kenya and Tanzania, he captured Gabra herders sharing weather data via an app. He also photographed Arctic foxes in Svalbard, where melting ice threatens their habitat. Guindani chose not to photograph Australia because coral reefs there began regenerating.
