Stefano Cerio's Night Games at Camera Torino

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Stefano Cerio (Rome, 1962; lives in Rome and Paris) creates photographs that appear objective but are transformed by a simple temporal shift: he captures mass entertainment venues like water parks and amusement parks at night or during closing hours, when they are silent and deserted. Using only flash and the darkness of night, he precisely outlines objects without adding effects. A video directed by Chiara S. Kurtovic features Cerio discussing his research, focusing on the series Night Games, currently on view at Camera – Centro Italiano per la fotografia in Turin until July 30, 2017. The exhibition includes a solo presentation and a dialogue with art critic and curator Cristiana Perrella.
