Stefano Cagol's video installation lights up the Royal Palace of Caserta
As part of the group exhibition 'Relazioni Estetiche', running at the Reggia di Caserta until December 20, 2018, artist Stefano Cagol (born 1969, Trentino) has created a monumental video installation on the palace facade. Titled 'The Body of Energy (of the mind)', the work projects a double infrared image of a human body onto the vast royal residence—the largest of its kind in the world—creating a chromatic trace in constant motion. Cagol describes the interaction as a 'true energy exchange' between the artwork and the ancient walls. The exhibition, curated by Massimo Scaringella, features works by fourteen contemporary Italian and international artists of various generations, invited to present projects either selected or created site-specifically for the Reggia.
