Stefano Cagol Appointed Artistic Director of Castel Belasi Museum

institutional · 2026-04-27

Stefano Cagol, born in Trento in 1969, has been named the artistic director of Castel Belasi, a historic castle from the 13th century located in Campodenno, Val di Non, Italy. This decision comes after the 2022 exhibition "Il Fato dell'energia" held at Castel Belasi Cultura. Cagol's initiative, "We Are the Flood/Noi siamo il diluvio," will establish a permanent presence at the castle, showcasing international contemporary art, a dedicated project space for artists under 35, and photography displays. The first exhibition, titled "Come pioggia," runs from June 11 to October 29, 2023, featuring artists such as Mary Mattingly and Eugenio Ampudia. Additionally, philosopher Timothy Morton is scheduled to give a lecture at MUSE on October 13, 2023. The castle, which belongs to the Campodenno municipality, underwent restoration and was made accessible to the public during the pandemic.
