Stefano Arienti's Christmas Greeting and Genoa Exhibition
Stefano Arienti, a leading Italian artist born in Asola in 1961 and based in Milan, has created a special Christmas card for Artribune's new artist postcard series, curated by Arianna Rosica. The card features a tranquil, familiar image of ducks on a frozen pond, imbued with gentle surrealism, as an invitation to see everyday things from new perspectives. Arienti, a prolific postcard collector, often alters found images with minimal, poetic interventions. Concurrently, his solo exhibition "Finestre Meridiane. Intersezioni con la collezione di Villa Croce" is on view at Museo Villa Croce in Genoa until January 14. Curated by Anna Daneri and Francesca Serrati, the show presents 80 previously unseen works—drawings, papers, and plasters—that interact with the museum's collection. The exhibition title alludes to the way light "sketches" the pieces. The museum is under the direction of journalist Carlo Antonelli, formerly of Rolling Stone. The postcard is available to subscribers, but the image is also shared publicly as a holiday greeting.
