Stefano Arienti designs labels for 8,500 bottles of Barolo Monvigliero
Stefano Arienti has created a series of horse drawings for the labels of 8,500 bottles and 250 signed Magnum bottles of Barolo Monvigliero, produced by Poderi Luigi Einaudi for their 125th anniversary. The horse motif, inspired by Giulio Romano's horses at Palazzo Te in Mantua, is rendered in various colors and techniques. The special edition celebrates the winery's founding in 1897 by Luigi Einaudi, who later became the first elected President of the Italian Republic. Current owner Matteo Sardagna Einaudi, an architect and art enthusiast, commissioned the project to bridge tradition and contemporaneity. The bottles also feature a QR code linking to 'Ascolta Dogliani', a symphony by Ludovico Einaudi.
