Stay with me: Murate Art District launches online platform for art in turbulent times
MAD – Murate Art District has launched 'Stay with me. Arte in tempi di turbolenza,' an international online platform that brings together artists, curators, and scholars to reflect on contemporary issues and the experience of the pandemic. The site went live on December 12, 2020. Curated by Associazione Aila as part of the Artegiro Contemporary Art program for Progetto RIVA, the platform allows artists to present works, events, and reflections, documenting their active production during a period of instability. Valentina Gensini, director of Murate Art District, explained that the project originated from MAD's encounter with Renata Summo and the Artegiro program, which structures production residencies prioritizing dialogue between artist and territory. The platform features 'stanze' (rooms) that evolve over time, with content that can be revised and recreated. Artists will actively participate, and forums will open new questions for discussion with students, art historians, and sociologists. Curator Renata Summo emphasized the aim to build a positive and vital reality, being witnesses of one's time to fuel debate and continue creating despite turbulence. The website is stay-with-me.org.
