Stauffer Center for Strings Opens in Cremona with Pininfarina Design

The Stauffer Center for Strings is set to launch on October 1, 2021, in the beautifully restored Palazzo Stauffer, an 18th-century building located in Cremona, Italy. This initiative is an evolution of the Fondazione Stauffer, founded in 1970 by Walter Stauffer, and the Accademia Stauffer, which began in 1985. Spanning over 2,000 sqm, the campus includes more than twenty study rooms and showcases a sustainable design by Pininfarina. Under the direction of Paolo Petrocelli, the center will feature Stauffer Labs focused on musicology and composition. Noteworthy offerings include workshops led by Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw, partnerships with BBC Music Magazine, and Harvard's metaLAB. Faculty members include renowned artists like Salvatore Accardo and Bruno Giuranna, with full-tuition scholarships available through the new website.
