START Art Fair Returns to Saatchi Gallery with Focus on Non-European Artists

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The fourth edition of START Art Fair will take place at London's Saatchi Gallery from September 14 to 17, 2017. The fair, dedicated to emerging artists and markets, will highlight non-European artistic scenes, particularly from Asia. Featured artists include Chinese artist Ye Hongxing, who will present kaleidoscopic landscapes blending Eastern and Western elements via Miami's Art Lexing gallery, and Liu Bolin, who will perform a live body-painting that becomes part of a sculptural installation. Hong Kong's Giant Year gallery will debut with contemporary ceramic works. Last year, the fair hosted 70 galleries from 40 cities worldwide. Saatchi Gallery CEO Nigel Hurst stated that START offers a discovery platform for new art and has become an important date in the art calendar. The fair reflects a growing Western interest in the Asian art market, paralleled by other fairs like Art Paris Art Fair.
