Starhotels' Elica Studio ceramic hearts exhibition at Splendid Venice

Starhotels' patronage initiative La Grande Bellezza – The Dream Factory, active since 2019, promotes Italian craftsmanship through exhibitions, events, competitions, and training support. The project is backed by Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte and Associazione OMA – Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'arte. The exhibition L'Italia nel Cuore, hosted at Splendid Venice – Starhotels Collezione during Homo Faber and Homo Faber in Città, runs until September 30, 2024. It features Elica Studio, the ceramics atelier of Carlo Pastore and Elisabetta Bovina, presenting sixty porcelain hearts. The installation aligns with Homo Faber's theme The Journey of Life. Starhotels President Elisabetta Fabri expressed pride in contributing to the valorization of Italian craftsmanship. The hotel group also runs a biennial competition La Grande Bellezza – The Dream Factory, now in its third edition, themed Souvenir del Grand Tour. The winner, textile designer and artist Cecilia Rinaldi (Bologna, 1992), was announced by Lydia Barbini, Group Director of Marketing & PR of Starhotels, at Artigianato e Palazzo in Giardino Corsini, Florence, from September 13–15, 2024. Her work AMPHORA, inspired by Roman-era amphorae from Sardinia and Calabria, features an aluminum lid, steel interior, and leather woven by hand. The exhibition of the ten finalists, selected by a jury chaired by Elisabetta Fabri, was open during the weekend.
