Star Wars exhibition lands in Genoa with over 1,000 artifacts

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Star Wars franchise, a cultural phenomenon since the original trilogy's release four decades ago, is the subject of a major exhibition in Genoa. Titled 'Guerre Stellari – Play' and curated by Fabrizio Modina, the show is produced by Arthemisia and hosted at the Magazzini del Cotone in the Porto Antico. Running from March 9 to July 16, 2017, it features over 1,000 pieces including models, accessories, costumes, action figures, and vintage prints, some displayed for the first time in Italy. The exhibition follows the recent death of Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, and celebrates the saga's enduring appeal, which spans films, TV series, comics, video games, novels, 3D versions, and vast merchandising.
