Stanley Tucci's Giacometti Documentary Airs on Sky Arte

Actor and director Stanley Tucci has created a documentary about Swiss sculptor and painter Alberto Giacometti, titled "Alberto Giacometti by Stanley Tucci," which will air on Sky Arte on Sunday, October 10, 2021, marking the 120th anniversary of the artist's birth. Tucci, who grew up in New York with an art teacher father, has long been fascinated by Giacometti's work and his exploration of the human condition. He previously directed the biopic "Final Portrait" starring Geoffrey Rush. In the documentary, Tucci interviews experts including sculptor Antony Gormley, Tate Gallery director Frances Morris, and Adrien Maeght, as well as friends and acquaintances who posed for Giacometti. The film delves into Giacometti's turbulent love life and his creative process, visiting his Paris studio at 46 Rue Hippolyte-Maindron, now a private home. The documentary aims to reveal the restless man behind the art, who was indifferent to fame and solely focused on his work.
