Stanislao Di Giugno's new works at Galleria Tiziana Di Caro in Naples

Stanislao Di Giugno (Rome, 1969) presents a selection of new works at the new premises of Galleria Tiziana Di Caro, which moved to Naples in 2015. The exhibition, titled 'Deserted corners, collapsing thoughts,' runs until May 7, 2016. Di Giugno's artistic practice explores volume within the thin thickness of canvas, breaking the surface tension that forces two-dimensionality. He uses color gradients, glazes, and folds obtained by folding the canvases as guidelines and starting points for the work. The pictorial fabric is crossed by lines of volume and color, creating both optical and physical depth, culminating in three-dimensional sculptural works. The artist works simultaneously on groups of canvases, each bearing the stigma of a particular state of being or thoughts collapsing into abstract and geometric images from remote and deserted corners.
