Stack & Field House, a 162-square-meter addition to a century-old weatherboard residence, has been finalized by Steffen Welsch Architects in Melbourne, Australia. Set for completion in 2025, this project redefines the notion that increased density necessitates consolidation, opting instead for a design featuring offset planes, layered rooms, and courtyards that prioritize spatial richness over sheer size. The architectural team is led by Steffen Welsch, with technical support from Shreysha Shrestha. Interior design is provided by Neutral Instinct, while Simplifi Projects manages the project. Structural engineering is handled by John Kyrgios and Associates, and environmental sustainability consulting is by Homestar. General contracting is executed by Encore Projects, with photography by Timothy Kaye. Miwa Negoro curated the project, involving manufacturers like Artedomus, Colorbond, and Dulux.
