Sta come Torre: Diffuse Exhibition Across Six Puglian Towers

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Curated by Paolo Mele, the diffuse exhibition 'Sta come Torre' launches on August 5 in Puglia, Italy. Seven artists occupy six symbolic 'towers'—unique venues across as many provinces—reinterpreting 865 km of coastline with new works. Luigi Presicce presents 'La torre trasmittente' at the auditorium San Giovanni in Vieste; Pamela Diamante shows 'Le origini, la terra, il mare' at the chalet of Villa Comunale in Trani; Lucia Veronesi exhibits 'È successo il mare' at the Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali; Luca Coclite and Giuseppe De Mattia collaborate on 'Torri orizzontali' at the monumento al Marinaio in Brindisi; Elena Bellantoni installs at the port museum of Tricase Porto; and Gabriella Ciancimino presents 'Radio Fonte Centrale_Stazione Puglia' at CRAC in Taranto. The interconnected shows form a unified journey promoted by the Regione Puglia and realized by Teatro pubblico pugliese under the project Destinazione Puglia. Each tower—ranging from an ex-church to a 19th-century chalet, an art museum, a monument, a port, and an independent cultural center—hosts works that connect to the previous and next tower, creating a continuous ideal link. Mele describes the towers as hubs fostering communication and collaboration among contemporary artists. He selected artists who 'have the sea inside,' predominantly Puglian women working across diverse media with complementary aesthetic formalizations.
