St Petersburg's Art Scene: Museums, Galleries, and Creative Spaces
The State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, which highlights 300 years of history, has included a section for Modern and Contemporary art since 2014. The State Russian Museum is home to Russian artworks, such as Kazimir Malevich's Black Square. Mikhail Matyushin's former residence now houses the Museum of Avant-garde, dedicated to early 20th-century avant-garde pieces.
