architecture-design · 2026-05-20

The San Antonio Spurs have launched an extensive $1.3 billion initiative named Project Marvel. This development will feature a new arena and a surrounding district. Overland International is tasked with the arena's design, while Sasaki focuses on the district’s layout and Marquee Development oversees construction. CAA ICON will manage the project, supported by civil engineering from Pepe-Dawson and financial services from Goldman Sachs, with legal guidance from Hunton Andrews Kurth. Scheduled to open for the 2032-2033 NBA season, the arena will be located at HemisFair, on the site previously occupied by the Institute of Texan Cultures, which will be demolished by 2025.
