Springfield Art Museum Publishes Centennial History

A History of the Springfield Art Museum, a new publication by Curator of Art Sarah Buhr, has been unveiled by the Springfield Art Museum. This book chronicles the museum's journey from its establishment in 1926 to its present status as a key cultural center in the region, in anticipation of its centennial celebration in 2028. It features a historical overview authored by Buhr, along with three additional essays: Kaitlyn McConnell's biography of founder Deborah D. Weisel, Kate Baird's examination of art education and the collection, and a reflection from the current Museum Director, Nick Nelson.
