Spring Art Scene in Nice: Verjux, Double Bind, Delvoye
In the spring of 2010, the art landscape in Nice was vibrant with numerous exhibitions. At Villa Arson, Michel Verjux's 1988 piece "Sous le plafond (sur le sol exactement)" underwent restoration. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Musée Fernand Léger, Verjux produced outdoor installations and projections, one of which mirrored his work at Villa Arson. Additionally, he revamped a projection at Galerie Catherine Issert, which showcased sound installations and drawings by Pascal Broccolichi and YIRIY. Broccolichi also took part in Villa Arson's exhibition "Double Bind / Arrêtez d'essayer de me comprendre !," focusing on communication failures. Meanwhile, Mamac featured Wim Delvoye's tattooed pigs, Gothic sculptures, and fresh creations. Plans for summer 2011 exhibitions on contemporary art history were also underway.
