exhibition · 2026-04-27

In spring 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused significant disruptions in the art world, resulting in the cancellation or rescheduling of key exhibitions throughout Italy, France, the UK, and the US. At the Reggia di Venaria, the exhibition 'Sfida al Barocco. Roma Torino Parigi 1680–1750' was postponed, showcasing over 200 pieces from the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, Louvre, and Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Palazzo Grassi also delayed three exhibitions, including 'Le Grand Jeu' featuring Henri Cartier-Bresson. In Milan, the Palazzo Reale postponed a retrospective on Margaret Bourke-White, while the Mudec cancelled 'Robot' and 'Disney. L’arte di raccontare storie'. Although 'RAFFAELLO 1520-1483' at Scuderie del Quirinale opened on March 4, it closed on June 2, 2020, along with delays for 'BANKSY A VISUAL PROTEST' and 'Christo et Jeanne Claude. Paris!'.
