Spring 2015 Asian Art Highlights: Biennials, Solo Shows, and Festival Across the Region

The Sharjah Biennial, overseen by Eungie Joo, is scheduled from 5 March to 5 June 2015, showcasing 50 artists hailing from 25 nations. In Doha, Shirin Neshat's solo show 'Afterwards' is on display at Mathaf until 15 February. Kishio Suga's exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, running from 24 January to 22 March, focuses on his Mono-ha era. 'Rainbow in the Dark' at SALT Galata in Istanbul, which delves into the intersections of religion, politics, and art, is available until 18 January. From 20 February to 14 June, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre will present 'Crossover: The Unveiled Collection,' featuring 18 Thai art collections. Haegue Yang's works at Leeum, Seoul, from 12 February to 10 May, include anthropomorphic sculptures. Wang Gongxin's solo exhibition at OCAT Shanghai is from 16 March to 24 May, while Liu Wei's showcase at UCCA Beijing, running from 6 February to 3 May, explores human-machine dynamics. 'Come to [what] end?' at Sàn Art Laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City is open until 5 February. Singapore Art Week takes place from 17 to 25 January.
