Spring 2011 MFA Thesis Exhibitions Showcase Emerging Artists Across New York Venues

The 2011 MFA thesis exhibition season features emerging artists from multiple New York institutions presenting work across various venues. Queens College students display at NY Studio Gallery from March 23 to April 2, while Columbia University's exhibition runs May 1-22 at the Fisher Landau Center in Long Island City. Parsons/The New School for Design occupies The Kitchen in Chelsea from May 5-16 for its fine arts show, with a separate photography exhibition at Parsons from May 9-23. New York University's Steinhardt School presents work in two parts at 80WSE Gallery: March 29-April 9 and April 26-May 7. SUNY Purchase hosts rotating displays at the Richard & Dolly Maass Gallery from April 18-May 6. School of Visual Arts showcases illustration thesis work April 29-May 14 at the Visual Arts Gallery. New York Studio School exhibits May 11-25 at its 8 West 8th Street location. Pratt Institute's show runs May 14-28 at Pratt Manhattan Gallery. New York Academy of Art presents "Uncharted" at Wilkinson Gallery May 16-27. Hunter College's exhibition occupies the Times Square Gallery from May 18-June 18. Many programs utilize alternative spaces beyond campus galleries to reach broader audiences.
