Spotify launches ElevenLabs-powered audiobook creation tool
At its Investor Day event, Spotify introduced a new AI-powered tool for self-publishing audiobooks, created in collaboration with ElevenLabs. This beta tool will be available in June on an invite-only basis and will initially support English. It's part of Spotify for Authors, allowing authors to publish without exclusive contracts, so they can distribute their work elsewhere. This follows a previous partnership with ElevenLabs, which had its own platform for authors in 2025. Additionally, Spotify has added support for 10 new languages. The company plans to enhance its Audiobook+ service with more listening options and has over a million subscriptions, aiming for $100 million in annual revenue. Their audiobook collection now features 700,000 titles, and listening has surged by 60% year-on-year.
