Spot Home Gallery Opens in 19th-Century Naples Palazzo

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A new gallery dedicated to research photography and its cross-pollination with other arts has opened in Naples. Spot Home Gallery, founded by photographer and curator Cristina Ferraiuolo, is located in a family property on Via Toledo, a historic street built in the 16th century connecting the old town to the sea. The space inaugurates February 4–7, 2021, with the group show 'Andamento lento,' featuring eight photographers—Michael Ackerman, Morten Andersen, Luca Anzani, Martin Bogren, Lorenzo Castore, Cristina Ferraiuolo, Adam Grossman Cohen, and Richard Pak—exhibiting works made in Naples over more than twenty years. The gallery occupies a 100-square-meter apartment on the first floor of a 19th-century building, with two exhibition rooms of about 25 square meters each and a private area for visiting artists. The bedroom serves as a project room for Lorenzo Castore and Irene Alison's audiovisual installation 'Sogno#5.' Ferraiuolo, whose background combines photography and curating, cites Christian Caujolle and the Galerie Vu' in Paris as key influences. The gallery aims to foster a greater sensitivity toward research photography in Naples and will host a workshop by Anders Petersen in spring, organized by TPW's Carlo Roberti, after two pandemic-related postponements.
