SponzArti Call for Migrant-Collaborative Art Projects in Alta Irpinia

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

SponzArti, the contemporary art section of the Sponz Fest directed by Vinicio Capossela, has launched an open call for artists to create works in collaboration with migrants hosted in four SPRAR centers (Protection System for Asylum Seekers and Refugees) in Alta Irpinia. The festival, titled "Selvaggio io o selvaggio tu?" (Wild me or wild you?), runs from August 21 to 26, with a preview on August 19, and explores themes of savagery and identity. Selected artists will receive €800 each and must involve SPRAR guests from Conza della Campania, Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, Bisaccia, and Sant'Andrea di Conza in both the selection process and project realization. The jury includes SPRAR guests, cultural operator Sabrina Pecci, art critic Tommaso Evangelista, and SponzArti director Mariangela Capossela. The initiative aims to counter xenophobia by fostering encounter and trust through art, prioritizing projects that address cruelty, indifference, barbarism, and salvation in relation to the other.
