Spider-Man: Brand New Day Joins $2 Billion Club, Second-Fastest to Milestone

Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the eighth film in history to surpass $2 billion at the worldwide box office, achieving the feat in just 17 days. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Sadie Sink, the film is the second-fastest title ever to reach that threshold, trailing only Disney's Avengers: Endgame, which did it in 11 days. As of Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day had accumulated $803.9 million domestically and $1.236 billion internationally, for a global total of $2.039 billion. This marks the first time a Spider-Man film has crossed the $2 billion mark; the previous franchise high belonged to Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed $1.921 billion in 2021. The $2 billion list, not adjusted for inflation, is led by James Cameron's Avatar at $2.923 billion, followed by Avengers: Endgame at $2.799 billion and Avatar: The Way of Water at $2.334 billion. Chinese animation Ne Zha 2 ranks fourth with $2.270 billion, just ahead of Titanic's $2.264 billion. The Force Awakens holds the all-time domestic record with $936.6 million, while Infinity War earned $2.052 billion. Avengers: Endgame is set for a September 25 re-release as Avengers: Endgame Encore, potentially threatening Avatar's record with only $206 million separating them.
