Spencer Tunick to Protest Trump with 100 Nude Women at GOP Convention

Spencer Tunick, the American photographer known for large-scale nude installations, will stage a protest performance with 100 nude women on July 17, 2016, in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention, where Donald Trump is expected to be nominated. Tunick stated, "There should be no hate in the dynamics of a presidential election," and called on all U.S. artists to create anti-Trump works before the election. The announcement followed his recent action in Bogotá, Colombia, where he gathered over 6,000 nude people in Plaza Bolívar to support peace talks between the government and the FARC. Tunick's career began in 1994 when he was arrested at Rockefeller Center in New York with a nude model. He has since conducted massive shoots in London, Lyon, Melbourne, Montreal, Caracas, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Vienna, and Mexico City, where he set a record in May 2007 with over 18,000 participants in the Zócalo. In Italy, he performed in Rome at Piazza Navona in 2001 and in Milan at Teatro alla Scala in 2010.
