SpazioSiena Opens in Siena as New Contemporary Art and Production Hub
SpazioSiena, a new cultural center focused on contemporary art and production, opens in Siena near Piazza del Campo. Founded by former mayor Pier Luigi Piccini, the space occupies a former clothing store and aims to engage young audiences through free workshops, concerts, debates, co-working stations, and exhibitions. The inaugural show, "Piani sulla Cometa," curated by Stefania Margiacchi, runs from November 25, 2017 to January 7, 2018, featuring five emerging artists: Sofia Bteibet, Matilde Cassarini, Andrea Lunardi, Agathe Rosa, and Giacomo Ricci, plus a site-specific intervention by RosaRicci. The center aspires to be a replicable model for other neighborhoods. Alessia Posani, recently returned from the Netherlands, is a key animator.
