Spazio Tenda Opens in Milan with Home! Sweet Home
A new self-managed exhibition space, Spazio Tenda, opens in Milan at Via Guglielmo Pepe 16, between Porta Garibaldi and Isola, inaugurated on June 28, 2024, with the group show Home! Sweet Home. Founded by ceramist Claudio Saviola and urban planning researcher Filippo Fortuna (Politecnico di Milano), the space evolved from a private studio that hosted workshops and open studios over two years. Spazio Tenda will not have a continuous program but will adapt to host exhibitions and collaborations in visual arts. The inaugural show features recent works in sculpture, painting, video, and textile design by four Italian artists living abroad: Stefania Carlotti (1994, based in Berlin), Ludovico Orombelli (1996, Lausanne), Agnese Smaldone (1996, Amsterdam), and Alessandra Vincenzi (1996, Paris). The exhibition explores domestic atmospheres and childhood memories, emphasizing versatility and temporariness.
