Spazio Pane launches crowdfunding to save bakery-gallery in Campoli Appennino

Spazio Pane, a combined bakery and art gallery in the small mountain village of Campoli Appennino in Lazio, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Eppela to avoid closure. Founded in summer 2022 by Sara Ciuffetta, Marco Ciuffetta, and Viviana Ciammetti, the project aimed to revive community spirit through culture and address the lack of a bakery in the town of fewer than 2,000 inhabitants. The gallery has hosted exhibitions and currently features works by Giulia Mangoni (born 1991 in Isola Liri) in a show titled "La Comparanza," curated with Giulia Gaibisso, running until May 31. The crowdfunding seeks €7,000 over three months to cover bread production costs, quality ingredients, and future exhibition programming. Donors receive rewards including tastings, artisanal products, and silkscreen prints for larger contributions. The founders emphasize the challenge of sustaining a niche cultural project in Italy's inner areas, where winter tourism declines and local understanding remains limited, despite support from artists, academy professors, and curators.
