Spazio Opis: New Rome Gallery Merges Old Masters, Contemporary Art, and Design

In Rome’s Palazzo Soderini, Spazio Opis – Galleria d’Arte has officially opened, showcasing the work of Clotilde Brewster, who designed the space in 1901 for Marianna Frankenstein. The gallery, a joint effort by Maria Teresa Panatta, Laura Griesi, and Floriana Viesti, commenced on March 20 with the exhibition titled “Art Installations. Old Masters – Contemporary – Design,” which will be available until June 20. Among the highlighted pieces are Abraham Brueghel’s Natura morta di frutta con pappagallo, Luca Giordano’s Jazabel divorata dai cani, and a tempera from the 15th century by Domingo Ram. The collection also features 20th-century works by Afro Basaldella, Roberto Almagno, Giacinto Cerone, and Pietro Consagra, alongside designs by Aristide Najeant and La Maison Rive Gauche, as well as artist jewelry from Carla Accardi, Pietro Consagra, and Roberto Almagno.
