Spazio MU.RO Extends 'Dal deserto all'impero' Exhibition and Unveils Matteo Mandelli's New Work for Milan Design Week
The exhibition 'Dal deserto all'impero: l'immaginario del potere tra antico e contemporaneo' at Spazio MU.RO in Milan has been prolonged until April 26, 2026, instead of the previously planned closure on April 19. Situated at Viale Campania 33, the gallery will also feature a new initiative by Matteo Mandelli called 'Cyber Carpet / Metal' during Milan Design Week/Fuorisalone 2026. This project advances Mandelli's work by adapting Persian carpet designs onto engraved metal. Historical items, including military artifacts from the Napoleonic era and a headpiece associated with Leopoldo II of Habsburg-Lorraine, are part of the exhibition. The project merges art, culture, design, and technology, exploring the visual representation of power. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00.
