Spazio Lancia Opens in Turin’s Historic Palazzo Lancia
Palazzo Lancia, a symbol of Turin’s automotive boom, has been reborn as Spazio Lancia, a new exhibition and event space. The building, constructed between 1954 and 1957 by architect Nino Rosani and the Giò Ponti studio, was acquired by Bentley Soa spa, a company specializing in public procurement qualification. President Tiziana Carpinello, a manager and collector, led the restoration, preserving the original design and converting the first floor—once the Lancia car company’s headquarters—into a cutting-edge venue with triangular concrete beams. The space is located in Borgo San Paolo, near the Fondazione Merz and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo. After an October grand opening with dance and a November solo show by young Turin artist Erik Saglia, the inaugural exhibition is “Van Gogh – Multimedia & Friends,” an immersive traveling show produced by Navigare Srl with artistic consultancy by Alberto D’Atanasio and Giovanna Strano for the multimedia section. Following stops in Monreale, Taormina, and Venice, the Turin edition adds original works by Monet, Renoir, Degas, and Van Gogh, some exhibited for the first time. Spazio Lancia plans to double its space within six months by adding the seventeenth floor for a restaurant. Carpinello stated the goal is to return a forgotten place to the city and make it a hub for business, art, and culture.
