Spazio In Situ: Rome's Peripheral Art Space Challenges Conventions

Founded in 2016, Spazio In Situ in Rome's Tor Bella Monaca district has developed a distinct identity by balancing medium and message, form and content. The space comprises 11 studios and an exhibition area, fostering dialogue among artists and presenting works that reveal conceptual affinities. Its peripheral location, both geographically and ideologically, allows it to engage a non-specialist audience through everyday materials and objects. The program includes interactions with artists and viewers, aiming to pose questions rather than provide answers. Current projects include 'Opératrice de Réseaux temporaires' in Rome and 'Made in Italy' in Lausanne, both resulting from a cultural exchange with Swiss collective TILT. In May, Spazio In Situ launched 'ISIT Magazine', an independent publication presented as a mutable exhibition across four appointments. The season concludes with 'Voyage / Voyage', a show connecting Roman and international artists around the theme of the Grand Tour.
