Spazio Berlendis: Ex boat workshop becomes new Venice art space

On June 5, 2021, Spazio Berlendis, a modern art venue, will debut in Venice, located within the historic Squero Vecio boat workshop. The first exhibition, titled 'Rincontrarsi a Venezia,' is set to run until July 17, 2021, showcasing works from artists such as Francesco Candeloro and Francesca Woodman, under the curation of Emanuela Fadalti and Matilde Cadenti. The exhibition features a written piece by philosopher Jonathan Molinari and collaborates with local galleries. A performance by cellist Federico Toffano is scheduled for 7 PM on the opening day. Architect Filippo Caprioglio designed the 300-square-meter space, which aims to serve as a cultural center prioritizing art over commercial interests, a gift to Venice from Fadalti and Cadenti.
