Spazio Acrobazie brings contemporary art to Palermo prisons

So, there's this cool initiative called Spazio Acrobazie, started by Associazione Acrobazie, aimed at transforming prison spaces using contemporary art in Palermo. It’s happening right now at the Casa di Reclusione Calogero Bona – Ucciardone and will also reach the Istituto Penale per Minorenni Malaspina over the next two years. A bunch of talented artists, like Francesco Arena and Flavio Favelli, are running the workshops, which are organized by Elisa Fulco and Antonio Leone. This project, backed by Fondazione CON IL SUD and Fondazione Sicilia, is not just about art; it also includes community improvements and cultural events. The first workshop kicked off in June with Paolo Gonzato and will run through February, focusing on wall art and creating prototypes.
