Spanish designer builds studio under a bridge in Valencia
Spanish furniture designer Fernando Abellanas, a former plumber, built a secret studio under an undisclosed bridge in Valencia. The workspace, resembling a metropolitan treehouse, is a wooden box wedged between two concrete pillars, furnished with a chair, desk, and shelves, all anchored to the wall. Abellanas constructed the container over two weeks, then slid it into place using a crank and guide system. He told Dezeen: 'It's an intervention that seeks to enhance these types of spaces. It's also a way to recover those feelings we had as children when we built small shelters. A way to isolate yourself while staying close to home, to the city.'
