Spain's 2023 Cultural Tourism Boom: New Museum, Picasso and Sorolla Anniversaries

During Fitur in Madrid, TourEspaña alongside the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism unveiled significant cultural events for 2023. The Galleria delle Collezioni Reali will open its doors, featuring 650 pieces from Spanish royal collections, crafted by Emilio Tuñón and Luis Moreno Mansilla. Minister Reyes Maroto emphasized that this will establish Madrid as 'the largest museum in the world.' To commemorate Picasso's 50th death anniversary, sixteen exhibitions will take place in Málaga, A Coruña, Barcelona, Madrid, and Bilbao, including 'Picasso-El Greco' at the Prado in June. Additionally, Joaquín Sorolla's centenary will be celebrated with exhibitions at his house-museum and the Prado, while the Centro Botín in Santander will showcase works by Roni Horn and Tino Sehgal, along with Eva Fábregas in the 'Enredos' series.
