Spain issues commemorative coins featuring Mortadelo, Filemón and other Francisco Ibáñez characters

The Spanish government has officially announced the launch of a series of collector coins paying tribute to cartoonist Francisco Ibáñez, coinciding with what would have been his 90th birthday. The collection consists of nine colorful coins featuring his most famous characters, including Mortadelo, Filemón, Ofelia, and Rompetechos. Each coin has a face value of 1.5 euros and is legal tender in Spain, though they are not intended for circulation and shops are not obliged to accept them as payment. The initiative celebrates the legacy of one of the country's most important comic artists.
