SP-Arte Viewing Room debuts virtual fair with independent projects 01.01 Art Platform and Levante Nacional Trovoa
From August 24 to 30, 2024, the SP-Arte Viewing Room will host the inaugural virtual edition of the Latin American art fair, showcasing 136 exhibitors. Among these are independent initiatives like 01.01 Art Platform and Levante Nacional Trovoa, which focus on racial diversity within Brazil's art landscape. Founded by Ana Beatriz Almeida, 01.01 emphasizes Afro and Afro-diasporic art, with backing from institutions in the UK, Portugal, and Ghana. Meanwhile, Levante Nacional Trovoa is a collective of Black, Asian, and Indigenous women and non-binary artists advocating for greater visibility and decentralization in the art community.
