Sound Art Constellation in Abruzzo: Pollinaria and Museolaboratorio

A research exhibition in Città Sant'Angelo, Abruzzo, explores sound art through works by regional artists active since the 1990s. Curated by Carla Capodimonti and Leandro Pisano, the show at Pollinaria and Museolaboratorio features performances by Vincenzo Core, Lorenzo Balloni, and Gaetano Cappella, a site-specific piece by Andrea Gabriele (a floor tile with engraved coordinates, part of the permanent collection since 2012), and a worktable by Giustino Di Gregorio, who published the album 'Sprut' on John Zorn's Tzadik label in the 1990s. Marco Marzuoli presents a sculptural work using magnetic tape, Fabio Perletta creates self-generating sound frequencies in a Zen garden setting, and the duo Tu M' (Rossano Polidoro and Emiliano Romanelli) offers a contemplative piece featuring the Gran Sasso silhouette. An archive of video, audio, and paper materials will form a permanent consultation collection at the museum. Pisano notes that sound art is gaining critical and curatorial interest, reconfiguring sound as an autonomous language.
