Sound and Music on the Côte d'Azur: 60 Years of Sonic Creation

The exhibition 'L'art contemporain et la Côte d'Azur: Le temps de l'écoute' at an unspecified venue on the Côte d'Azur from June 24 to October 30, 2011, curated by Jean-Marc Avrilla and Éric Mangion, traces sixty years of sound and music practices in the region from the 1950s to the present. Contemporary artists who have worked in the area were invited to create new works in dialogue with historical productions, pairing figures such as Pascal Broccolichi with Lars Fredrikson, Vincent Epplay with Robert Malaval, Jérome Joy with Jean Dupuy, Arnaud Maguet with Sun Ra, Isabelle Sordage with Éliane Radigue, Gauthier Tassart with Thomas Köner, and Christian Viallard with Yves Klein. Throughout the summer, the exhibition is accompanied by a series of concerts.
