Sotheby's New York Headquarters Expansion by OMA's Shohei Shigematsu
On May 3, 2019, Sotheby's will open its newly renovated headquarters located at 1334 York Avenue in Manhattan. This $55 million initiative, crafted by Shohei Shigematsu from OMA, is part of a broader enhancement impacting Sotheby's locations in London and Paris. The updated facility will include a digital signage system, a spacious ground floor for exhibitions and auctions, a bookshop, retail merchandise, and a café called Sant Ambroeus. New additions comprise the Octagon Gallery, Enfilade Galleries, and Grand Gallery, along with two more auction rooms.
