Sotheby's Launches Museum Network Video Platform
Sotheby's announced the upcoming launch of the Sotheby's Museum Network, a video aggregation platform set to debut on August 29. The initiative aims to consolidate video content from museums worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tate, National Palace Museum of Taiwan, and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow. David Goodman, executive vice president for digital development and marketing at Sotheby's, cited the public's insatiable appetite for museum-related content as a driving factor. The platform will also produce original series, such as a 13-episode feature on Chatsworth House. Sotheby's noted a 187% increase in video views on its website and that viewers of editorial content are 33% more likely to participate in auctions. Content will be available on Sothebys.com and Apple TV.
